Reviews for Pioneer AVIC-X910BT 5.8-Inch In-Dash Navigation A/V Receiver with DVD Playback and Bluetooth (Electronics) I will no longer go into all small print on this unit. This is my first GPS receiver and up to now the Navigation has worked great. The handiest problem I even have had with it's sometimes after system startup is complete it takes a minute or so prior to the choice of using "around current GPS location" is selectable.

iPhone/iPod voice control works nice when the use of play artist, play album, etc. The unit fails the use of Call "name" to dial. I truly have but to get the machine to acknowledge a title that's in my cellphone ebook. I end up either having to make use of the contacts display to make a choice or use the voice command "call 555-555-5555", which it gets proper each time but I do no lengthyer know all of the quantitys for my contacts so that's no lengthyer one of the best possible various.

iPhone/iPod films that I truly have paid for and downloaded from itunes don't play back well. They take ceaselessly to load and when they do the placeholders for the film information stay on the reveal the complete movie however do no lengthyer even display any information. During playback you get some weird artifacts as well for example a line in the direction of the image at random factors during playback. iTunes tune videos on the other hand load high-quality.

One feature listed within the e book is the display of incoming Short Mail (SMS). I even have yet to have incoming SMS no longerifications display on this unit.

The X910BT has a nice appearance but having a glossy finish on a slightly unit implys very visible finger prints. A matte end would were higher. The volume knob just isn't raised enough for comfortable operation except you may have the hands of a 7 year old.

Overall a pleasant machine nevertheless it does have issues. Things I would are expecting to work on a unit at this worth.
Reviews for Pioneer AVIC-X910BT 5.8-Inch In-Dash Navigation A/V Receiver with DVD Playback and Bluetooth (Electronics) Pioneer re-named a rather modified AVIC-F900BT to the AVIC-X910BT, test overviews on that unit, in addition to the AVIC-F90BT and AVIC-F700BT to peer the well-liked complaints.
Hardware modifications are a new DVD drive, a new Apple chip to improve new Apple instruments and a minor update to the faceplate.
The software program changes (which are on hand, for a fee, from Pioneer for existing F-series consumers as a 3.0 replace) include:
o An replace of the WindowsCE working device that runs beneath the person interface, which is answerable for the increase in responsiveness of the unit over the F-Series working on model 2.0.
o Updated navigation software program from iGo 8.0 to iGo eight.3, this provides all of the new map options advertised, like heading-up in 2D map mode and traffic indicators.
Reviews for Pioneer AVIC-X910BT 5.8-Inch In-Dash Navigation A/V Receiver with DVD Playback and Bluetooth (Electronics) Bought the X910BT for my automobile, we enjoy triping the back highways of Arizona and the southwest. Having the Nav device put in in the automotive makes things very easy - no trouble connecting the various softwares, cables running all over, taking it down and putting it back up when making ceases, and little "suction circles" on the windshield that thieves search for. Now I handiest must fuss with the radar detector. Startup time on the unit is actually no lengthyer a drawback, my Garmin would often take several minutes to startup, the AVIC is typically ready to go in about 1 minute. The bluetooth joinion takes a little longer and the unit may be very slow until the bluetooth joins. After the bluetooth is attached, the X910BT may be very responsive.

It's an easy unit to function after you get used to it. My earlier GPS was once a Garmin unit, and I truly bought spoiled with the support of their features. A few things I can complain about with the X910BT:
- Voice popularity on bluetooth - simply doesn't appear to take into account what I'm saying, either by using title or quantity. I frequently turn out choosing the contact off the display as an various of telling it who to call. After the decision has started, it works great, incoming sound is loud and clear. One particular person instructed me I sounded roughly muffled on their finish, however they did not have any drawback take into accounting me.
- Route planning is a bit of a ache if you are like me and like to take the back streets. When we trip, we like to stay off the interstate as so much as that that you could imagine. Disabling the Highway option makes for some very long journeys as it'll attempt to route you method out of the best possible manner to avoid freeways. The AVICFeeds software program is okay and I truly have used it to generate POIs for route planning, but it is tedious and not as easy to use as Garmin's MapSource. AVICFeeds also has a three00 merchandise limit on POIs it can import, because of this getting ingenious in case your have a file with numerous areas, this type ofs these discovered on POI-Factory.com.
- The extent knob is actually small and difficult to seize.
